Arlo Guthrie - Coming Into Los Angeles - Woodstock 1969
Before I get another DMCA filed against me, I'd like to say I have put this online as I belive this can be counted as fair use, as it criticises Warner Bros. Remastered DVD version. I really hope someone at Warner sees this, and by the time the Blu-ray reissue is released, the audio problems that were encountered on the DVD release have been resolved! Right, moving on: Yup, ANOTHER Woodstock clip, showing the heavy use of drugs and alcohol... Amazingly, there were only 3 reported deaths at the festive, and only ONE of them were drug related! Don't you just feel we live in a paranoid world now?
Arlo Guthrie/ Amazing Grace

Arlo Guthrie - The Garden Song - 1987

Arlo Guthrie, "Deportee"
This video is meant to demonstrate by music + images that the immigration problem isn't new, but has a long history. This video takes no political position concerning immigrants or immigration, but is meant to honor Woody's song, Arlo's singing, and the many immigrants who have worked, suffered, been deported, etc. This is just a slide show using Woody Guthrie's classic song as sung by his son Arlo and public domain (I believe) images; hopefully this will not violate any Fair Use copyright guidelines. All music performed by Arlo Guthrie, video/music collage edited/created by Dulcimerea.
Arlo Guthrie & Pete Seeger/ This Land Is Your Land
Third Encore! This is the best version of Woody's song ever! Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger gets EVERYONE to sing this song! I love Pete's ghostly deep and gentle voice leading with the lyrics. This was a truly magical concert. This is all never before seen footage. The project is still on the shelf. For now, I thought the world needs to see this! The video is a live mix and the sound track is from our CD titled More Together again. Soon to be released at Carnegie Hall this year. Arlo, Pete and family will be performing together once again. www.risingsonrecords.com
I'm Changing My Name to Chrysler (Arlo Guthrie)
I'm Changing My Name to Chrysler, performed by Arlo Guthrie, lyrics by Tom Paxton. "Corporate welfare-the enormous and myriad subsidies, bailouts, giveaways, tax loopholes, debt revocations, loan guarantees, discounted insurance and other benefits conferred by government on business-is a function of political corruption. Corporate welfare programs siphon funds from appropriate public investments, subsidize companies ripping minerals from federal lands, enable pharmaceutical companies to gouge consumers, perpetuate anti-competitive oligopolistic markets, injure our national security, and weaken our democracy." - Ralph Nader in "Cutting Corporate Welfare." www.thirdworldtraveler.com
Arlo Guthrie/This Land is Your Land
Our grand daughters, Olivia and Jacklyn jumped on stage along with Annie Guthrie, Sarah Lee & Johnny. Arlo stops the song to tell a story his dad Woody used to tell. Arlo West "The End is not in Sight" (Cowboy Song)
Arlo West playing a homemade "Pine Telecaster." I have always loved the music of The Amazing Rhythm Aces! Byrd Burton and Russell Smith wrote this fantastic country rock anthem. "First time I heard it was on my mothers parlor console back when I was a teenager. I was instantly in awe of the guitar playing and started playing this song soon after in my band. It doesn't get much better than The Aces people!" This is one of the first guitars built by Arlo. It features an Eastern Pine one-piece body routed by Marty McClary. Bill Lawrence, Keystone Telecaster pickups, which are amazing. Andy Rothstein, electronics. An Eldorado's Telecaster tooled leather pick guard. And just recently I have changed the neck to beautiful nice vintage maple amber tint Warmoth standard thin C profile. Google search Pinecaster Guitars for more information. Arlo Guthrie/Patriots' Dream
A great song & story for these times. Arlo's son Abe is on keyboards & Gordon Tibcomb on steel. I shot this at the Sebastian River Festival, April 10, 2004. That's our daughter, Annie holding our grand daughter, Olivia. Annie was born July 1976 around the time Arlo wrote this song. My favorite line in this song is, " perhaps too much is being asked of too few, you and your children with nothing to do..." Sorry for the sound quality. Here are the lyrics: Patriot's Dreams Living now, here but for fortune placed by faith's mysterious schemes Who'd believe that were the ones asked to try to rekindle the Patriot's Dreams Arise sweet destiny time runs short all of your patience has heard their retort, hear us now, for alone we can't seem to try to rekindle the Patriot's Dreams Can you hear the words being whispered all along the American stream, tyrants freed and the just are imprisoned Try to rekindle the Patriot's Dreams But perhaps too much is being asked of too few, you and your children with nothing to do, hear us now, for alone we can't seem to try to rekindle the Patriot's Dreams. Arlo just released a NEW CD titled, "In Times Like These", with the Kentucky Orchestra. "Patriot's Dream" is stunning. The entire CD is absolutely beautiful! www.risingsonrecords.com

Arlo West "Oasis"
My homemade Telecaster Ol' Piney number one was used on this original song. Instrumental with lots of searing heavy Telecaster licks. www.pinecaster.com I have built over 40 Pinecasters so far. S style as well as T. I truly love the feel and the tone I get from my Pine guitars. I played a 25th Anniversary Stratocaster since 1979 and let me tell you it wasn't a lightweight guitar! It was Rock Maple and heavy as hell! After 28 years I thought it might be time to lighten up and try some lighter guitars. I thought maybe I would try building one and that turned into 40 somehow! The body of the guitar was made for me by Marty McClary and is Eastern Pine with no paint just a simple Howard's Feed N Wax coating. Neck is a Warmoth gloss vintage tint T style. Pickups are the great Bill Lawrence Keystones. I highly endorse these pickups people. Probably the best Tele pickup for a guitarist who plays any style of guitar. The pickguard is a lovely leather El Dorado. The amp is one of my favorites a Line 6 Flextone III XL with a little chorus and delay. Using a Marshall tone with greenback 25's. City of New Orleans
NOTE: THIS VIDEO IS OUTDATED AND IS TO BE REVISITED & REVISED WHEN TIME ALLOWS. HOWEVER, BY POPULAR DEMAND, I WILL LEAVE THE ORIGINAL VERSION ONLINE. WHEN THE NEW VERSION IS UPLOADED, THIS VERSION WILL REMAIN UNAFFECTED. THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. This is obviously my most popular video to date, telling the story of favored overnight passenger train running between Chicago and New Orleans. Since then it's logged over 300000 views as the past of American railroading and travel are relived by the viewers. For most, it's a train of not so long ago that reminds us of how things have changed since then. I call it nostalgia. At some point, I plan to do an updated version of this very much loved video as you can see the techniques you see here are out of date compared to where I am now. Original description: This is a video dedicated to the Illinois Central's most famous daytime train. It mostly contains footage of MSTS, but there is a clip or two of TRS2006 and an excursion train me & dad followed to Cookeville back in October of 2005. Enjoy!
