This is a sloppy run because the "fans" were cheering me on for speed. Should this have been a real competition, i would have lost points for the sloppy run, however, it was fast. This type of event teaches how to efficiently move around in a tree for the tree trimmer to trim limbs that need removal from the tree.

Indiana Arborist Tree Climbing Competition at Purdue University
Professional tree climbers will compete in the Indiana Arborist Association's Tree Climbing Championship on September 24, 2011 at Purdue University for the right to represent the state in an international contest. The competition at Squirrel Park at the corner of Airport Road and state Route 26 will begin at 8 am It will feature 15-20 climbers, mostly from Indiana but including others from surrounding states who will use the occasion to practice for their state competitions. Only members of the Indiana group can compete for the Indiana title. The winner will represent the state in the 2012 International Tree Climbing Competition in Portland, Ore., in August 2012.

This work should only be attempted by certified, trained individuals! This is a video demonstrating how a tree (65 ft) can be safely removed close to a home. The arborist climbs the tree and limbs it on the way up. The tree is then roped and secured by an anchor/.belay person on the ground. The tree top is angle cut and felled, caught by the rope it is then safely lowered to the ground. The remaining tree is then felled in safe sections.
