Back in Moscow, I've bought an Age of Empires 2 Age of Kings disc in one of the markets in the year when the real game was released. Then it came to pass that this game seemed to be in the earlier development stage. That includes a Joan of Arc campaign, map editor and, disappointingly though, most of the units' sprites are from Age of Empires itself. But what eventually surprised me was that the intro video is quite longer than the one you have in your AoE II discs (I compared it with my friends). Watch it and you'll see more from the intro than you have before. Update (29/12/2009): Got a confirmation from a guy, who actually directed this video, that this is what I think it is. "I directed this cinematic back in 1997 when I worked at Rainbow Studios in the now-defunct Animation Division. We were the subcontractor hired by Ensemble to produce this. I can confirm that this is indeed the uncut version, one that was delivered to Ensemble as one of our interim milestones. This is my first video with using fraps or an other kind of computer game recording device! I know it's not good. I'm a noob at the game but it's still fun to play. If I make another video like this, I think it will be 1 vs. 1. You may criticize me so I can make the videos better, but please keep it PG. And don't worry,the quality and sound gets a little better later in the video. Also, the quality is slightly bad because I only have the free version of fraps. If you're like me, you love to AoE farm. It doesn't matter which MMO I'm playing, if I'm not running a dungeon, or PvP'ing, I'm out somewhere trying to kill as many creatures as possible, in the shortest amount of time. Rift patch 1.1 is the first major content patch for Trion's up and coming MMO. It introduces a week-long world event, complete with its own currency, limited-time rewards, the opening of a new raid instance, and much debated class balance changes. As I began to digest the Epic-Mealtime-sized patch notes, I noticed a seemingly innocuous entry that, I'm sure, many players just glanced over on their way to bigger, sometimes heartbreakingly not better, changes. I'm talking about the change to the 'exposed' debuff. Now this little debuff has been the bane of any Rift AoE aficionado. That is, until patch 1.1 officially went live. Previously, the 'exposed' debuff increased the amount of damage a player would take by 20%, and stacked up to five times. You got the debuff by getting hit by a creature while running away from it. Not a huge deal, for most, but for an AoE'er, five stacks was nearly a certainty if you wanted a efficient pull. However, the prospect of taking 100 ...

PART I covers a few basics about battle micromanagement tips and strategies you need to remember when playing AoE II, especially online. Check out PART II for more advanced combat maneuvers such as how to outflank and surround your enemy, create unaccessible sniper nests, or feign a retreat to lure troops into a deadly trap, especially for maps such as Black Forest, the most popular map when playing online. This guide contains mainly micromanagement tactics that will help you increase your chances of winning by reducing enemy numbers and morale before direct confrontation. To win the direct confrontation itself you will need to rely on a strong economy and various military buildings to constantly pump out sheer numbers and variety of units appropiately upgraded through research. NOTE: I am not an expert nor anywhere close, these videos are for people who enjoy playing the AoE II series, not for pros. These videos do not cover strategies such as the rush, flush, grush, vill boom or anything similar: they simply instruct and give tips about micromanaging troops and battlefield outcomes. Video Summary: 1) Never forget to have a few scouts/hussars around even in Imperial Age. Probably one of the hardest missions on any AoE game, the best strategy is probably to just keep whittling them down, youll lose alot of soldiers and it will take awhile but sooner or later they crack, im not sure if destroying all their buildings outside the fort will prevent those annoying reinforcement spawns and its probably not worth the time to try to find out. Make sure you get the two cities on your side as they will be invaluable as distractions/support during your raids, (Note that if you wait too long to destroy the Ronin camp, the north village will be destroyed although the objective can still be completed). The woodcutter objective seemed to do precious little so is probably not worth your time, the farmer one is far more important and you can destroy most of the outer ring of enemy structures if you support them effectively. I would advise getting the Dutch consolate and bringing in a falconet in the 3rd age (your artillery is rather underwhelming compared to previous games).
