Clickles the Stapler
This is a non- profit advertisement made about "Clickles", The stapler toy. It's an anti-consumer ad about trying to get people to stop buying things on black friday, because is it really worth it to get into such a frenzy over a stupid toy stapler to the point where people are getting trampled? I don't think so and neither does Clickles. Oh, and it's also a project for my English class.

A little parody something I threw together. I see the censorship, deletions & suspensions are reaching a fevered pitch. Clearly ebay has a lot to hide, and a very thin skin. This issue above above all is a very valid reason for good honest folks everywhere to close out their accounts and never ever conduct business with ebay, Paypal or anyone who does again. I won't even go into the myriad of other reasons, such as supporting organized crime, fakes and counterfeits, recent misbehavior by the highest level executives, paid shills and stalkers on ebay forums and related forums etc. Using ebay supports and condones crime and also forms misconduct which modern, civilized societies condemn. Clearly, ebay is oppressive, anti-free speech, anti-consumer rights, anti-free trade, and hypocritical. This piece is about bankers. To the extent that bankers are closely aligned with their friends in other financial services industries -- like private, for-profit health insurance -- I think I can safely say the anti-consumer behavior and arrogance displayed by big business is not isolated to the banks. In light of the huge bailout the American people extended through their elected officials to the big banks, one would think there would be at least the occasional illusion of gratitude to the poor working class folks whose hard earned money helped fund the bank bailout. If there is no gratitude for our financing of the lifestyles of the banking CEOs in the style to which they have all become so accustomed, then perhaps a sense of obligation might prevail. When someone helps me out, I feel gratitude and an obligation to treat that person kindly. I also want to pay that person back. The bailed out bankers of America do not feel any of those quaint and apparently out-dated motivations. This week I had one of those in-your-face moments with my bank that not only made my blood boil but also reminded me why I remain a gullible cog in the economic wheel rather than a valued customer.

If Louisiana can license florists, there is no limit to what it can license or to the burdens it can impose on honest, productive livelihoods On March 4, 2010, the Institute for Justice filed a civil rights lawsuit, Chauvin v. Strain, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against the Commissioners of the Louisiana Horticulture Commission seeking to have Louisianas anti-entrepreneur, anti-competitive, and anti-consumer florist licensing scheme declared unconstitutional. Among our sacred rights as American citizens is the ability to earn a living in the occupation of our choice free from arbitrary or unreasonable government interference. By presuming to determine who is good enough to work in a harmless occupation like floristry, Louisiana violates that right.

paul.house.gov http This past week the administration announced its choice for the first credit czar at the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This bureau was created as part of the supposed Wall Street reform bill recently passed by Congress. This new bureau, which represents nothing more than another layer of useless Washington bureaucracy, will be housed within the Federal Reserve-- one of the most anti-consumer institutions in Washington. The appointee named to run the bureau is an Ivy League professor. By her own admission she is an academic, not a business person. She has very little real world business experience with the highly complex financial instruments she will oversee. The administration has done nothing to refute her characterization by some in the financial press as an anti-business, ivory tower leftist with an aversion to free market principles. She also admits to being told, or warned, that the big banks always win in Washington - yet she trumpeted the creation of this new agency as a win against those banks. I would caution her against declaring victory too soon. Outrageously, she has been appointed as a "special advisor" to design and lead the bureau, but the administration has not disclosed the exact length of her term. There will be no Senate confirmation hearings, nor will the public or the financial industry be allowed to comment on her appointment. A Tipping Point in the Relationship Between Wall Street and Main Street

Durbin also spoke about debit card swipe fee reforms that took effect last month, finally helping to bring fairness, transparency and competition to the debit swipe fee system while allowing consumers to save money and helping small businesses create jobs.
