The Story of Bottled Water (2010)
storyofbottledwater.org The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all. Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, and Polaris Institute. The Story of Broke (2011)
bit.ly — The United States isn't broke; we're the richest country on the planet and a country in which the richest among us are doing exceptionally well. But the truth is, our economy is broken, producing more pollution, greenhouse gasses and garbage than any other country. In these and so many other ways, it just isn't working. But rather than invest in something better, we continue to keep this 'dinosaur economy' on life support with hundreds of billions of dollars of our tax money. The Story of Broke calls for a shift in government spending toward investments in clean, green solutions—renewable energy, safer chemicals and materials, zero waste and more—that can deliver jobs AND a healthier environment. It's time to rebuild the American Dream; but this time, let's build it better.

The Story of Electronics (2010)
The Story of Electronics, releasing Tuesday, NOVEMBER 9, employs the Story of Stuff style to explore the high-tech revolution's collateral damage—25 million tons of e-waste and counting, poisoned workers and a public left holding the bill. Host Annie Leonard takes viewers from the mines and factories where our gadgets begin to the horrific backyard recycling shops in China where many end up. The film concludes with a call for a green 'race to the top' where designers compete to make long-lasting, toxic-free products that are fully and easily recyclable. Our production partner on the electronics film is the Electronics TakeBack Coalition, which promotes green design and responsible recycling in the electronics industry. Annie Leonard Project Funded With Your Tax Dollars!
I just found out that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Environmental Protection Agency are funding Annie Leonard's project called Loop Scoops. The cartoon is geared to 6 to 9 year-olds, and indoctrinates them to promote anti-capitalist values. It is bad enough that Annie's work is factually inaccurate. It is worse that her projects are in the schools. But, why are our tax dollars funding more of her Leftist garbage? USA Today Article: content.usatoday.com Loop Scoops: pbskids.org I previously debunked her video titled, "The Story of Stuff." Annie Leonard Book Signing for the Story of Stuff with Lee Doren
Many of you have seen my Story of Stuff Critique. Well, I bought Annie Leonard's Story of Stuff book, and went to her book signing to ask her to debate the merits of her arguments at a University of her choice. I was friendly, and she agreed. However, she wasn't a fan of the "Enjoy Capitalism" shirt that I gave her. Hopefully, she'll enjoy Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics, A Common Sense Guide to the Economy, 3rd Edition. What's the Economy for Anyway? (9/21/09)
What Is "the Economy" for Anyway? Annie Leonard, Documentarian, The Story of Stuff Colin Beavan, Author, No Impact Man David Batker, Executive Director, Earth Economics Chip Giller, Founder and President, Grist - Moderator While the economy hums away in an uncertain environment, some people question the basic purpose of the capitalist market: to provide iPhones to the masses, or to provide food to the needy? What is the role of the government as trust in the free market falters? "No impact man" Beavan opts out of the system completely, Leonard tells us the true "story of stuff," and Batker applies economic theory toward protecting the environment. Giller, Grists "beacon in the smog," will help us unpack these perspectives and navigate the global economy what its really for and who needs it.
