The following was taken from Wikipedia: "In the summer of 1967, Lyngstad won a national talent competition with the song "En Ledig Dag" ("A Free Day" or "A Day Off"). Unbeknownst to Frida, the winner of the contest was also expected to appear the same evening in one of the country's most popular TV shows at that time, Hylands Hörna (Hyland's Corner; Lennart Hyland being the host of the show). This programme was broadcast for two hours, on the very same day that Sweden changed from driving on the left-hand side of the road to the right. For this occasion the show was re-named Hylands Högerhörna (Hyland's Right Corner)."

Slideshow of Anni-Frid Lyngstad Reuss (aka Frida), the brunette girl from the Swedish group ABBA and one of the greatest singers of all time. It shows images from 1945, when she was barely a few months old, to present time (2010) with the song "Everyday" by Carly Comando as backing track. In the beginning, more than 1100 images were used, but, as my intention was that the slideshow ended at the same time as the song, I had to reduce them to 950 aprox. Anni Frid Lyngstad aka Frida The Abba Brunette Princess Anni-Frid Reuss of Plauen (born Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, 15 November 1945 in Bjørkåsen, Ballangen, Norway), also known as "Frida" Lyngstad, is a Swedish singer of Norwegian and German origin. She was one of the four members of Swedish pop group ABBA. At first, Lyngstad was hesitant to perform with her boyfriend Benny Andersson, his best friend Björn Ulvaeus and his girlfriend, Agnetha Fältskog. Their first project together was the cabaret act Festfolk, which flopped in the winter of 19701971. The following year, 'Frida' toured on her own while the other three future ABBA members started performing together on a regular basis. Eventually, she rejoined them. Andersson and Ulvaeus were busy producing other artists, but soon discovered the qualities of Lyngstad's and Fältskog's voices combined: ABBA came to life. "People Need Love" was released in June 1972, featuring guest vocals by Agnetha & Frida , who were now given much greater prominence. Stig Anderson released it as a single, credited to Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid. The song reached #17 in the Swedish combined single and album charts, enough to convince them they were on to something.The single also became the first record to chart for the quartet in the United States, where it peaked at #114 on the Cashbox singles chart and #117 on Record World's singles chart. Billed as Björn & Benny (with Svenska Flicka), it was released there on Playboy Records. However, according to Stig Anderson, "People Need Love" could have been a much bigger American hit, but a small label like Playboy Records did not have the distribution resources to meet the demand for the single from retailers and radio programmers. The foursome decided to record their first album together in the autumn of 1972, and sessions began on 26 September 1972. The two women shared lead vocal on "Nina, Pretty Ballerina", on this day, and the two women's voices combined in harmonies for the first time gave the foursome an idea of the qualities of their combined talents. ABBA Hasta Manana Performed On Yamaha Tyros 4 By Rico Hasta Mañana, which originally was titled "Who's Gonna Love You?", is the fourth track on Swedish pop group ABBA's second studio album Waterloo. Initially thinking "Waterloo" was too risky, their second choice of song was the ballad "Hasta Mañana", as they thought it was more in style with the previous Eurovision Song Contest winners. They decided on "Waterloo", primarily because it had Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad sharing lead vocals, whereas "Hasta Mañana" had Fältskog as the sole lead vocalist, and the group believed that this would give the wrong impression of the group to the world. In Australia, "Hasta Mañana" was later used as a B-side on the "So Long" single (which never charted). There's something unique about the pop/rock group ABBA and despite the fact that the group split up in 1982, interest in their music continues unabated. Their compilation album ABBA Gold, released in 1992 resulted in multi-million dollar sales and topped the charts in at least 15 countries. This documentary is structured around the rehearsals for Mama Mia, a new romantic comedy musical, inspired by their songs. This provides the springboard into a wealth of archive performance footage from the 70's and 80's. One of the most important elements of the program will be the protagonists themselves. Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Bjorn and Benny talk for the first time about their work and time with ABBA.
