The Bicycle Animation
If you would like to own a laser cut Bicycle Animation design please go to www.etsy.com/shop/katybeveridge1. These are not visible with the naked eye, it must be filmed to animate. This is a piece created to question whether it was possible to film animation in realtime. Part of my CSM 3rd year disseration project I was looking at proto animation (really early basic animation) in contemporary design. I've taken a lot of influence from other contemporary designers who are using these techniques to explore the way we look at animation and how its made. As stated on my channel I have interviewed animators such as Jim le Fevre and in my research referenced other people using this technique such as David Wilson and Tim Wheatley who did this before me. I developed this project based on what is being done in animation right now as well as a lot of primary research into the history of animation techniques. Big Thanks to my friend Stefan Neidermeyer who did the sound. The soundtrack is made up of various bike noies recorded during the filming process which Stef then remixed to make the amazing soundtrack. These animations use the same concept as my other videos. The only difference is, the images in this video are on a screen instead of printed on a piece of paper. Ever since I first created my first animated optical illusion years ago I have always wondered if the concept would work on a screen. Sure enough! It does. This took about a week to produce. Everything had to be absolutely exact for the effect to work. I used photoshop to created the 2D animations and Lightwave 3D to create the 3D animations. Each step is crucial to successful replication and is therefore a potential target of antiretroviral drugs. Step one is the infection of a suitable host-cell, such as a CD4-positive T-lymphocyte. Entry of HIV into the cell requires the presence of certain receptors on the cell surface, CD4 -- receptors and co-receptors such as CCR5 or CXCR4. These receptors interact with protein-complexes, which are embedded in the viral envelope. These complexes are composed of two glycoproteins: an extracellular gp 120 and a transmembrane gp 41 When HIV approaches the target cell gp120 binds to the CD4-receptors. This process is termed attachment. It promotes further binding to a co-receptor. Co-receptor binding results in a conformational change in gp120. This allows gp41 to unfold and insert its hydrophobic terminus into the cell membrane. Gp 41 then folds back on itself. This draws the virus towards the cell and facilitates the fusion of their membranes. The viral nucleocapsid enters the host cell and breaks open releasing two viral RNA-strands and 3 essential replication enzymes: Integrase, Protease and Reverse Transcriptase. I Met the Walrus
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrators James Braithwaite and Alex Kurina have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack. A spellbinding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit and timeless message, I Met the Walrus was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Animated Short and won the 2009 Emmy for 'New Approaches' (making it the first film to win an Emmy on behalf of the internet).

Mike Birbiglia's "Old Mill Pond Story" - Animated!
Mike takes a trip to Toon Town! Comedian Mike Birbiglia has appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The View, and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. In 2008, Mike Birbiglia teamed up with producer Nathan Lane to present "Sleepwalk With Me," a painfully funny one-person show about first love, denial, and how the sleepwalking disorder that nearly killed him might have saved his life. The New York Times called the show "Simply perfect," and it was twice extended, earning Mike nominations for both a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Circle Critics Award for "Best Solo Performance." The Boston Globe has described Mike's stories this way: "As honest as any Richard Pryor confession and as engaging and inclusive as an old Bill Cosby record." Mike is a popular contributor to shows as diverse as "The Bob & Tom Show" and "This American Life." In 2009 Mike headlined his own Comedy Central tour, called the "I'm in The Future Also" Tour. He performed standup in more than 30 cities and universities across the country. Mike Birbiglia is also hard at work on his next comedy album and next one-hour special, and is currently working on a screenplay adaptation of "Sleepwalk With Me," as well as a collection of short stories to be published by Simon & Schuster. Mike Birbiglia is a very busy guy.
