Britain's Got Talent Andrew Johnston Britain's Got Talent is a British television show on ITV (also on TV3 in Ireland). Presented by Ant & Dec, the talent show premiered on 9 June 2007, and was broadcast daily with a live final on 17 June 2007. It is a search for Britain's next best amateur talent act, featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other talents of all ages. Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of the show received £100000 and performed at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the Queen and members of the Royal Family at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool. As Britain's Got Talent returns for its second series, hosts Ant & Dec and judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan once again begin their search for Britain's most talented performer. The second series began on a primetime slot at 19:45 on 12 April and for the remainder of the auditions will continue in this Saturday night slot. Medical examiners in Los Angeles are investigating the possible poisoning death of one of their own officials who may have worked on the case of Andrew Breitbart, the conservative firebrand who died March 1, the same day Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced probable cause for forgery in President Obama's birth certificate. Michael Cormier, a respected forensic technician for the Los Angeles County Coroner died under suspicious circumstances at his North Hollywood home April 20, the same day Breitbart's cause of death was finally made public. "There are mysterious circumstances surrounding his death," said Elizabeth Espinosa, a news reporter for KTLA-TV. "We're told detectives are looking into the possibility that he was poisoned by arsenic." This comical video presentation by Spadecaller accompaines the Yiddush song originally composed by lyricist Jacob Jacobs and Sholom Secunda in 1932. In 1937, Sammy Cahn heard a performance of the song, sung in Yiddish by African American performers Johnnie and George at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, and on seeing the response, got his employer to buy the rights so he (together with Saul Chaplin) could rewrite the song with English language lyrics. He then convinced The Andrews Sisters to perform the song (recorded November 24, 1937), and it became a major hit.
