Video fly-through showing the new Tower Terrace Road Alignment, which will provide another major East-West arterial route across the northern portion of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa metropolitan area. The new roadway will connect Interstate 380 to Iowa 13. Ament, Inc. developed a more defined alignment for a portion of Tower Terrace Road within the City of Marion. The limits of the detailed alignment study extended from N.10th Street to N. 35th Street in Marion.

Ah, The Ol' "Bait and Switch"? - Irondequoit Town Board Meeting Bob Ament - 4/16/09
My apologies for a bit of intermittent "flipping" on this vid ... I am only as good as my tools allow; me thinks that my television is on it's way out! :) Oh, the ol' "bait and switch" is alive and well in the Town of Irondequoit. According to the Town's web site, the public input was meant to be at the very end of the night - Thank Heavens, Bob Ament did not arrive to Town Hall later in the evening - because, if he had believed that he would "be heard" - he would have only found out that the public input was closed, and he would have missed the opportunity to speak. Since this meeting, some have said that this was the plan ... the ol' "bait and switch" .... never fall for that, Irondequoit residents! At the Irondequoit Town Board meeting 4-16-09, Mr. Bob Ament comes once again before the Town Board to address his concerns regarding the now ever-ending issue of our Seniors, and the Senior Center. As he begins, he reminds us all that he is a life long Democrat, as well as an immediate resident of the Pinegrove building. Quoting Mr. Ament - "You have exactly 60 days to bring this project together before our target date in June" - and then, "I hope that we can get it done" Then, when reflecting his time in Africa ... with comparison in Government - "When Governments don't keep their promises to our Seniors Citizens of this community - they die a little bit every day from loneliness, neglect, and depression" Profound, to say the very least. Irondequoit Town Board Meeting 3/18/09 - Democrat, Peace Corp Veteran, and Irondequoit resident, Bob Ament comes before the board to express his outrage (to put it politely). Among his many concerns, he speaks of the administration's refusal to "put a dime into Pinegrove" (paraphrase, but very close - Supervisor Heyman) regarding the Senior Center. His gracious attempt in volunteering his services and involvement for the betterment of the current condition of the Pinegrove facility. - "I did in one day what you were unwilling to do in three years", and "you have not provided more than a $4.00 chair (and from Rite Aid, at that!) in the current facility". As he contiuned - he added that at study in the amount of $34K should, and can be avoided - proclamins to be a waste of money spent . (hey! - have we not ALREADY paid for such studies in the past? ... hmmm) Mr. Ament seeks to confirm a date by the town to follow through with the make-over that has been proposed - He has secured commitments, with the donations of time and product(s) from The Home Depo (county wide), Target, and Irondequoit Lawn and Tree Landscaping ... all totaling near $100000.00 dollar value. It was clear that Bob Ament had taken offense, and found the words "spring clean-up" insulting to his concerns, invested time, and work in seeking the progression of the Pinegrove building. In ending, he expresses dismay in Supervisor Heyman for her accusations towards him implying that he had been "put up" to it ...

Hello Neighbors- 4th of july is coming up and the boaters and swimmers and families should know they are going to be swimming in human waste. There was a heavy rain as recently as sunday. Also Irondequoit Newport development is scheduled to start, who will want to buy a high end condo when they learn that sewage is dumping directly into their front beach at the bottom of Irondequoit Bay? It has been confirmed by the Town of Irondequoit and Monroe County clean water/environmental that during heavy rain events raw untreated sewage mixed with rain water is released via Densmore creek directly into Irondequoit Bay. This includes, fecal matter, human waste, tampons, condoms, toilet paper, and pharmaceutical waste. I became aware of this 2 years ago when a friend of mine went kayaking in the feeder creeks to Irondequoit bay. I believe raw sewage is also released in the creek passes through ellison park and then into Irondequoit Bay. I spoke with another friend that commented that after a heavy rain and when it is musty out, she smells a sewage scent at the bottom of Empire blvd which happens to be where the creek empties into the Bay. I find this disgusting and immoral in the year 2009, and I am very disappointed in Maggie Brooks and Mary Ellen Heyman for not notifying the general public about this human health hazard. Children take sailing lessons near the outlet of Densmore Creek, people canoe, jetski, waterski and swim in that area. At the very least the general public ...

This video is the history, in pictures and music, of a special part the Seattle "grunge" music scene from 1984-1999. It highlights Malfunkshun, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Temple Of The Dog and Pearl Jam. And of course the guitar genius who created this incredible song, James Marshall Hendrix! Andrew Wood's death in 1990 was the end of Mother Love Bone, and was the driving force behind the formation of Temple Of The Dog in 1991. Chris Cornell's heartfelt tribute to his friend, the band featured members of both Mother Love Bone and Soundgarden. During this same time, the remaining members of Mother Love Bone were reforming as two different bands... Bruce Fairweather and Greg Gilmore joined Blind Horse (check out the video for "Blind Horse - Mystery"), and Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard formed Mookie Blaylock (later renaming themselves Pearl Jam). They brought new members lead guitar player Mike McCready and vocalist Eddie Vedder to the Temple Of The Dog sessions, and along with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron a truly unique, one-time band and cd was created. Temple Of The Dog performed an early show at The Off Ramp in Seattle (check out the youtube vids), at Lallapalooza 92 ("Hunger Strike" and "Reach Down") and on various special occasions, but do not tour as a band.
