US Army Airborne School, Fort Benning, GA
The United States Army Airborne School — widely known as Jump School — conducts the basic paratrooper (military parachutist) training for the United States armed forces. It is operated by the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 507th Infantry, United States Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia. The Airborne School conducts the Basic Airborne Course, which is open to soldiers of both genders from all branches of the US Army, its sister services, and allied military personnel. The purpose of the Basic Airborne Course is to qualify the volunteer (all students volunteer for this school) in the use of the parachute as a means of combat deployment and to develop leadership, self-confidence, and an aggressive spirit through mental and physical conditioning. The course is three weeks long and consists of "Ground Week", "Tower Week" and "Jump Week". Rigorous physical training (PT) is emphasized throughout the entire course. The initial entry PT test consists of the standard Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). All age groups must pass this test using the 17-21 age group standards. The pullup requirement was lifted in October 2006.

Medal of Honor: Airborne Gameplay (PC HD) Medal of Honor: Airborne is a World War II first-person shooter computer game and the 11th installment of the Medal of Honor series. It was developed by EA Los Angeles and was released worldwide on the PC and Xbox 360 in early September 2007. A PS2 and Wii version was set to be released but was cancelled in 2007. A PlayStation 3 version was released late November 2007. The game takes place in the European theater of World War II, and is the first in the series to focus only on paratrooper activities. All these buckets of rain, I've heard enough about. You say that I lied. I am a gentleman didn't I ask for a place I could stay? What were we both thinking? The next part just got in the way. You were just always talking about changing. What if I was the same then, the same I always was? All these things that you say, like i'll forget about the mind-numbing games that you play. I am a gentleman, didn't I pay for every laugh every dime, every bit every time and then you feed me some line. I won't hear one more word about changing. Guess what I am the same man, same that I've always been. Days pass and turn into weeks, when we don't even speak. We just lay wide awake and pretend we're asleep. You go home alone and you're checking your phone and you're looking at me like I'm something you own. All these buckets of rain, you can't forget about it, you say I never tried. Airborne Jump
My friend Max was in Army Airborne in Vietnam. For his 60th birthday, I wanted to help him relive those memories and went digging around for a good video. I could not find any to my satisfaction, so I created my own, spending many hours reviewing a lot of clips from YouTube and Google Video. I did none of the videography - I only collected and viewed a ton of video clips and assembled them into a story. The music has been overused and you will recognize a lot of video from other clips. This is simply a compilation. After watching the final video, Max said he wanted to grab a chute and do it all over again. I am most grateful to the boys who sneaked a camera on board to capture the first-person perspective of the jumps. Looks like it would be a lot of fun except for when people are shooting at you.

Russian VDV Airborne Forces
Vozdushno-Desantnye Voyska! The VDV is a branch of the Russian military. They are a rapid reaction and infiltration force, comprised of 5 divisions and 1 brigade. Only a few small airborne drops were carried out in the first desperate days of Operation Barbarossa, in the vicinity of Kiev, Odessa, and the Kerch peninsula during World War Two. Those small drop units have now grown into a modern, fierce, fighting force. The VDV took place in some of the most pivotal battles of World War Two and had a very direct connection with the demise of the German occupation over Prague, Chernigov, Odessa, Brest, and Danzig, and was largely resposible for the liberation of the Belorussian front. When the motherland calls, the VDV answers! VDV units were some of the first elements of the Russian retaliation in South Ossetia against Georgia in 2008. 76th "Chernigov" Airborne, and 98th "Ivanovo" Airborne division's took place in the liberation of Tskhinvalli and eventually pushed into Georgia itself, defeating every line of opposition until Georgia finally surrendered days later. The VDV participated in the rapid deployment of Russian forces stationed in Bosnian city Ugljevik, in and around Pristina airport during the Kosovo War. Streaming into Kosovo's capital, NATO found itself face-to-face with the Russian troops.
