ipassthecpaexam.com Hello, this is Stephanie from IPassTheCPAExam.com. In this video, I am going to share with you the accountants' salary trend in both public and corporate accounting. Let's start with public accounting. For junior public accountants who typically have 1-3 years of experience, the starting salary would be around US$40000 for local CPA firms, and more likely towards $50000 in Big 4. For offices with expensive cities it could be in the mid or even high 50s. As you gain your experience, you may be able to get up to around $70000. The salary range is highly dependent on the cost of living in your city, as well as the general market condition. For senior accountants with 4-6 years of experience, the y will be paid anywhere from $50000 to $70000 in small local firms, and mid 60s to 80s in Big 4 and other large regional CPA firms. Most of these accountants have become CPAs and are rewarded with a 10-15% jump in their salaries. Then, there is a long road from senior accountants to partners. The accountants would need to transform from a very good bean counter into a businessman who can find new clients and get business for the firm. Not every accountants can make the switch, but for those who do, they will be rewarded with a much higher salary. Accountants are promoted to partners at different times, but I would say generally, you'll need around 12 years to become a junior partner. There is also a huge difference between small and large CPA firms -- big firms ...
