After the surprisingly positive reaction to the first video that stepped outside of my comfort zone of Noisy Hill, I bring you A Brief History of Silent Hill (no, I haven't quite yet stepped out of the comfortable arms of Silent Hill). 10 years ago today, Silent Hill 1 was released, and here's a brief video explaining some things that you already knew about the town. When I realised that Silent Hill's 10th birthday was in 2009, I thought "Great! Maybe I'll do some kind of Brief History to celebrate. I should have loads of time." This was last week, before I realised when the anniversary actually was, so please excuse the fact that this was rushed, especially the video, which was thrown together at the last minute in a desperate attempt to try and make me get this out in time. Annoyingly, some parts of the video freeze, meaning that you have a nice shot of Cybil when you should be looking at Harry, but oh well... you get the point. Partway through the documentary BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE,filmmaker Michael Moore offers up an animated "Brief History of the United States of America," by Harold Moss of Flickerlab, which outlines the ways that racial fear has shaped US sensibility. The story goes, briefly, like this: Pilgrims cross the Atlantic to esca...pe persecution; in the New World, they run into scary Native Americans whom they proceed to massacre. Importing free labor from Africa ("the genius of slavery"), the New World denizens find more reason to be afraid, arm themselves against rebellion, and soon the US is "the richest country in the world." Increasing internal resistance to this particular economic system is met by the invention of multiple shot weapons, and when the KKK is declared illegal (a "terrorist organization"), the NRA is born. As blacks migrated to cities, "whites ran in fear to the suburbs, and once in the suburbs, still afraid, they bought millions and millions of guns" in an inevitably failing effort to preserve their property, privilege, and sense of "order." The film was intended to show what people have believed in and pointed to as evil throughout history. It was meant to get you to think about what evil really is. It is meant to show that when we get too obsessed with "evil" we might end up taking part in it ourselves. One has to separate evil and human cruelty. I made another nice clip concerning the Atheist religion. This time i tried to get as much as examples as i could about other Atheist Prophets beginning from the 17th century. Many Prophets tried to explain the satanic evolution fairytale, but time after time they got debunked in a short period of time. It's funny to see that the Atheists main Prophet named Darwin had more succes, well, if you look at the time in wich Prophet Darwin lived you will notice that there was simply a lot of reason to reject God. Starting with Cicero's axiom, "To philosophize is to learn how to die," Professor Critchley leads us to his conclusion that to die is to learn how to live. The Daily Telegraph called the book "rigorous, profound, and frequently hilarious" and described Critchley as "an engaging and deadpan guide to the metaphysical necropolis" as well as "bracingly serious and properly comic." - The New School Simon Critchley was born in Hertfordshire in 1960, and currently lives and works in New York as Professor of Philosophy at the New School for Social Research. He failed dramatically at school before failing in a large number of punk bands in the late 70s and failing as a poet some time later. This was followed by failure as a radical political activist. Udit Narayan is one of the most popular singers of the Hindi film industry. This multi talented playback singer has sung in numerous films and in many different languages. This great singer was born in a small village named Bharadah in Nepal. His initial years were full of struggles and he started off his career with a brief stint with the Nepal Radio. He used to sing Maithili, Nepali and Bhojpuri songs during the 1970's. By the end of the 70's he moved to Bombay to pursue music under scholarship. He received training in Indian classical music for six years in Bhartiya Vidya Bhava. He got his first break in 1980, when noted music director (composer) Rajesh Roshan asked him to playback for the Hindi film Unees Bees, and was given the opportunity to sing with the veteran Mohammed Rafi. He later provided playback, along with another veteran Lata Mangeshkar for the 1983 hit, Bade Dil Wala for the song, Jeevan Ke Din. After several years of singing unnoticed songs for Hindi films in 1986 he sang the song "Krishna Krishna" for the film Tan Badan for the composers Anand-Milind. The actual success story of his career began in 1988 when Anand-Milind gave him the oppportunity to sing all the songs for the successful Bollywood movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, earning him a Filmfare Award.[3] The film also brought actor Aamir Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and playback singer Alka Yagnik to stardom. Muslims regard as Prophets of Islam (Arabic: نبي) those non-divine humans chosen by Allah as prophets. Each prophet brought the same basic ideas of Islam, including belief in one God and avoidance of idolatry and sin. Each came to preach Islam and told of the coming of the final law-bearing prophet and messenger of God: Muhammad. Each prophet directed a message to a different group and each prophet taught minor variations in Sharia (or the practice of religion) to a different target-audience. These variations constitute applications of Islam: mainstream Muslims do not consider them discrete versions of Islam. Islamic tradition holds that God sent messengers to every nation. In Islam, only Muhammad was sent to convey God's message to the whole world, whereas other messengers (rasuls) were sent to convey their messages to a specific group of people or nation. Unlike Judaism and Christianity, Islam distinguishes between a direct messenger of God (rasul) and a prophet (nabi). Both function as divinely inspired recipients of God's revelation. However, in addition, rasuls are given a divine message or revelation for a community in book form. While every rasul is a nabi, not every nabi is a rasul. Muslims regard Adam as the first prophet and Muhammad as the last prophet; hence Muhammad's title Seal of the Prophets.
