Savatage- "Handful of Rain"

"Handful of Rain" was written by Jon Oliva and Paul O'Neill. Featured on the self-titled album Handful of Rain. he night is growing dark From somewhere deep within It shelters like an ark That always takes you in The barmaid walks on over And pours another round For a lost soul at the corner Who prays he's never found And the mind goes numb Until it's feeling no pain And the soul cries out For a handful of rain Wash your women In your Whiskey When your future's In the past And your staring Up at heaven From the bottom Of a glass And you need some insulation From the years you've Had and lost And you feel the perspiration As you're adding up the cost And the night rolls on Like a slow moving train And the soul cries out There's a land beyond the living There's a land beyond the dead If it's true that God's forgiving Of the lives that we had led In the distance there's a thunder And the air is thick and warm And the patrons watch with wonder The approaching of the storm And the night rolls on Like a slow moving train And the soul cries out For a handful of rain There's an old man in the corner And he's smoking all the time An the smoke is drifting upward and it's Twisting in my Twisting in my Mind In my mind The whiskey's getting deeper And I use it like a moat There's a blues man in the distance and he's Lost inside his Note His note The night is growing dark From somewhere deep within It shelters like an ark That always takes you in And the night rolls on Like a slow ...

Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King (Rare) [HD]

Remastered in HD, it's hard to find this one. Lyrics: Far away In a land caught between Time and space Where the books of life lay We fear This castle of stone The mountain king roams All alone in here But he's not the only one Lost inside Forever hidden from the sun Madness reigns In the Hall of the Mountain King Oh yeah His deep Dark eyes Keep watch on his kingdom And the mysteries that sleeps safe inside His hall His towers of stone Shall not be overthrown For eternity It is guarded by the king Insanity and the power that it brings Madness reigns In the Hall of the Mountain King Oh yeah In the Hall of the Mountain King Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Come with me Stay close by my side As the darkness of night closes in Don't fear In the thunder, it roars When the Mountain King calls all his children home To where I hid him we must run Refuge here but I was forever on the run Madness reigns [my friends] In the Hall of the Mountain King Oh yeah In the Hall of the Mountain King Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Savatage- "Streets"

"Streets" is a song by Savatage. It is written by Criss Oliva, Jon Oliva and Paul O' Neill. The song is featued on the album Streets: A Rock Opera in 1991. As darkness falls so hard Come and play, yeah Somewhere Out there Alone and out of place Streets of illusion Sooth the shattered faith I've been a runner I've been a sinner I've been inside my head I sit here staring Never quite caring And this is where it has led These streets Glitter in the dark Don't sleep Red eyes sunken and stark Dream deep In her arms where you are safe These streets Never sleep still they never wake Somewhere out there Gardens bloom and grow Children awaken To a world they know Somewhere there's sunshine Somewhere the light's kind Somewhere they seek the day Somewhere there's no scene Somewhere the air's clean But somewhere is so far away These streets Glitter in the dark Don't sleep Red eyes sunken and stark Dream deep In her arms where you are safe These streets Never sleep still they never wake Somewhere the light is kind, is kind... no... oh yeah Welcome children From the other side In the darkness Your eyes are opened wide Here there are answers On the edge dancers Here the night hides our sins And if you listen While the streets glisten Here's where our story begins These streets Glitter in the dark Don't sleep Red eyes sunken and stark Dream deep In her arms where you are safe These streets Never sleep still they never wake

Savatage - Miles Away

Savatage - Edge Of Thorns (1993). initiation under the name Metropolis, and then, in 1983, Avatar, the band has called the Savatage.1993 is a tragic year for Savatage. After the launch of one of the best albums in the history of metal, called the Edge of Thorns: dies a founding member of the group in a traffic accident, the guitarist Criss Oliva.

Savatage- "Edge of Thorns"

From album Edge of Thorns in 1993. An offering of reasons We put them all and play A covering of treasons That one by one we let slip away A solitary dancer So lost upon her stage I have seen you on the edge of dawn Felt you here before you were born Balanced your dreams upon the edge of thorns But I don't think about you anymore A study made from winter Of summers long ago And dreams that used to glitter Safely now hidden under snow And so we end the chapter And let the stage lights fade I have seen you on the edge of dawn Felt you here before you were born Balanced your dreams upon the edge of thorns But I don't think about you anymore I have seen you on the edge of dawn Felt you here before you were born Balanced your dreams upon the edge of thorns But I don't think about you anymore Anymore... I don't think about you.. anymore anymore, oh I don't think about you (3x) I don't think about you anymore anymore, anymore oh oh oh, yeah ye

Savatage- "Can You Hear Me Now"

"Can You Hear Me Now" is written by Jon Oliva, Criss Oliva and Paul O'Neill. It is featured on their album Streets: A Rock Opera. If I closed my eyes Would it all subside To an echo in the night Of a distant fading light Then a stranger's silhouette A burning cigarette And somewhere in the haze A passage through the maze And can you hear me now Or are there just too many doors Between then and now For me to ever reach on through And pull you back somehow But that can't happen anymore Still still in the night I think I hear you calling I have walked this stage As the music played They knew every word But they never heard For they never changed It's all very strange As I'm standing here Contemplating years And can you hear me now Or are there just too many doors Between then and now For me to ever reach on through And pull you back somehow But that don't happen anymore Still in the dark I'd swear I hear you calling

Savatage- "Tonight He Grins Again" & "Strange Reality"

From the album Streets: A Rock Opera written in 1991. Nighttime again Seems I'm my only friend Wander the streets alone The lost in search of his own Once again I've played the clown Used my friends and let them down Walk the streets just staring out Late at night the strange come out Time, time, time again I'm just looking for a friend But no one seems to be around Just this monkey that I've found Still he is my only friend And tonight he grins again Tonight he grins again Oh yeah Tonight he grins again It's cold this pain It's burning inside my veins I walk away A shadow of Dorian Gray Once again I've played the clown Used my friends and let them down Walk the streets staring out Late at night the strange come out Time, time, time again I'm just looking for a friend No one seems to be around Just this monkey that I've found Still he is my only friend And tonight he grins again Tonight he grins again Oh yeah Tonight he grins again Oooh, livin' on the... edge Who's this before me Dressed in rags, soaked in gin Is it a sign or a warning Am I now where he's been Am I losing my way Strange insanity It's an illusion away This reality You know that could be me, oh yeah That could be me Wake every morning I don't know where I've been All my excuses Showing strain wearing thin Am I losing my way This strange insanity It's an illusion away This reality That could be me, oh yeah That could be me Another day Another night Another drink another fight Somehow it's all the same And so ...

Savatage - Sleep

I do not own Savatage or their music, and hold no rights to them. This is solely for entertainment purposes. Band: Savatage Album: Edge of Thorns Year: 1993 Song: Sleep Lyrics: Hey there you, way out there in the distance Can you hear me? Are you there? I know it's late, so please forgive my persistence But I'm hanging, do you care? So lay back, call off the attack 'Cause if you look deep, dreams are nothing that I lack And all I seek, a final chance to speak But I would let the whole thing keep If I could just sleep Hey there you, way out there Could you show me, just a signal or a sign? That after all, all these years that you've known me That I'm not just killing time So lay back, call off the attack 'Cause if you look deep, dreams are nothing that I lack And all I seek, a final chance to speak But I would let the whole thing keep If I could just sleep As I lay there late at night Building castles in the air Out of alibis and all those little lies And then I look inside and pray that I don't care I don't care, I don't care Hey there you, way out there in the distance

Savatage - DT Jesus

Beautiful version of Jesus Saves.... CD: From the Gutter to the stage Disc 2 Lyrics Jesus was a talker Out-of-place New Yorker Hung out on the boulevard Sellin' nickel candies Saving up all his quarters Bought himself a cheap guitar Started playin' bars The kids came in their cars You'd hear them shouting at the stage Jesus saves Jesus saves Hear him cut through the night On your late night radio waves Jesus started changin' Things got really strange He saw his tee-shirts everywhere Started missing shows The band came down to blows But Jesus he no longer cared Things got out of hand And so he quit the band But still the critics they would rave Jesus saves Jesus saves Hear him cut through the night On your late night radio waves So the dice were cast Today become the past Jesus just disappeared He was headed for New York Or so his label thought And there he gave away the years Jesus saves Jesus saves Hear him cut through the night On your late night radio waves......

Savatage- "If I Go Away"

Featured on the album Streets: A Rock Opera in 1991. Somewhere on that long lonely road We all stand alone Looking for clues From our different views In the dark I've called out your name It echoes in vain Over again In an empty room If I go away What would still remain of me The ghost within your eyes The whisper in your sighs You see Believe And I'm always there Staring down a long empty hall Pictures on walls All with your name But it's not the same Searching for the chord I can't hear Been searching for years It's somewhere inside But it's well disguised If I go away What would still remain of me The ghost within your eyes The whisper in your sighs You see Believe And I'm always there Someday I'll take a chance You find them where you can They tend to slip away Those doors to yesterday Forever is a long time they say Maybe some day I'll meet you there If you've time to spare Tell me then Where I can go Where they won't know Who I have been Can we start again And if I go away What would still remain of me The ghost within your eyes The whisper in your sighs You see Believe And I'm always there PS If you have Rock Band please keep submitting any of Savatage songs on RB. Savatage - Believe (acoustic)

Acoustic version of believe by Savatage, bonus track on the Edge of Thorns album.

Savatage - Believe

Lyrics : So after all these one night stands You've ended up with heart in hand A child alone On your own Retreating Regretful for the things you're not And all dreams you haven't got Without a home A heart of stone Lies bleeding And for all the roads you followed And for all you did not find And for all the things you had to leave behind I am the way I am the light I am the dark inside the night I hear your hopes I feel your dreams And in the dark I hear your screams Don't turn away Just take my hand And when you make your final stand I'll be right there I'll never leave All I ask of you Believe Your childhood eyes were so intense While bartering your innocence For bits of string Grown-up wings You needed But when you had to add them up You found that they were not enough To get you in Pay for sins repeated And for all the years you borrowed And for all the tears you cried And for all the fears you had to keep inside I am the way I am the light I am the dark inside the night I hear your hopes I feel your dreams And in the dark I hear your screams Don't turn away Just take my hand And when you make your final stand I'll be right there I'll never leave And all I ask of you is Believe

Savatage - Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)

From the 1995 album, "Dead Winter Dead" This song was later re-released on the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's 1996 debut album, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" I figured I'd upload the Savatage version, since mostly every copy of this song on YouTube is the TSO version, or referring to it. It's a shame that TSO has received so much success out of a song that was originally on a Savatage record, even though TSO consists of Savatage members. I'm uploading this so fans of TSO that know nothing of Savatage can maybe gain the interest to look into the rest of their catalogue. Savatage is probably one of the most under-rated rock/metal bands in history, and that's a shame, because they're also one of the most talented. Here is the story behind this song, quoting Savatage producer (and TSO founder) Paul O'Neill: "... We heard about this cello player born in Sarajevo many years ago who left when he was fairly young to go on to become a well-respected musician, playing with various symphonies throughout Europe. Many decades later, he returned to Sarajevo as an elderly man—at the height of the Bosnian War, only to find his city in complete ruins. I think what most broke this man's heart was that the destruction was not done by some outside invader or natural disaster—it was done by his own people. At that time, Serbs were shelling Sarajevo every night. Rather than head for the bomb shelters like his family and neighbors, this man went to the town square, climbed onto a pile of rubble ...

Savatage- "Labyrinths" & "Follow Me"

"Labyrinths" is the intro to the song "Follow Me" on the album Edge of Thorns. It was written by Criss Oliva, Jon Oliva and Paul O' Neill in 1993. (Instrumental) I really want to know What you had in store I couldn't really tell Perhaps it's just as well I came here with a dream And I just had to see If my dream would soar I knocked on every door His whole life was written Written there inside The new weekly bible His modern TV Guide Every night he stares back at the screen, yeah A man only sees want he wants to see When he's in his mind Where he is that he wants to be Living in a world where he's safe from reality Won't you take a chance on this night And follow me Won't you follow me (repeat) Don't need no super heros Don't need no movie stars Don't need no politicians In big black shiny cars Don't need no preacher Whose church is my TV A man only sees what he wants to see When he's in his mind Where he is what he wants to be Living in a world where he's safe from reality Won't you take a chance on this night child And follow me Won't you follow me (repeat) Once was a broken hero The kind that we all know The kind that hides inside us For we never show The kind we say that could never be me His whole life was written Written there inside The new weekly bible His modern TV Guide Stare back at the screen, yeah yeah A man only sees want he wants to see

Savatage - The Wake of Magellan

The Wake Of Magellan [Music & Words: Jon Oliva, Chris Caffery, Johnny Lee Middleton, Paul O'Neill] As he stood upon the watch deck Looking out onto the sea It would offer no solutions Only silent company So he took hold of the reasons As he tried to understand But they offered just confusion As they bled into his hands Dear god Couldn't you decide What should happen to a man's assassins Dear god Is it suicide I have never been a man of passions I believe what the prophets said That the oceans hold their dead But at night when the waves are near They whisper And I hear There are wounds that bleed inside us There are wounds we never see They are part of our refinements That allow a man to be There are wounds that bleed in silence With aristocratic grace There are tears we keep beside them Never seen upon a face Dear god Do you think it's wise To remember everything that has ever happened Dear god Could we compromise Or must the shadows of this night be everlasting I believe what the prophets said That the oceans hold their dead As I contemplate this stand What I do Is who I am I believe what the prophets said That the oceans hold their dead But at night when the waves are near They whisper And I hear Don't see the storms are forming Don't see or heed the warning Don't hear the sound of tyrants Surrounded by the silence Columbus and Magellan and De Gama Sailed upon the ocean In a world of ignorance With thoughts so primitive That men were killed With no more will Than that ...
