However; since Contra is not on the Wii's Virtual channel it was scarped in favor of Super C. Now Super C is a wicked hard and challenging game. I suggest that you gamers get this for your Wii. PS2 Underrated Gem: Contra: Shattered Soldier
Apparently Konami has joined the blood sucking fest of youtube greed and has put a visual content claim on my vid despite that fact that it's fair use, because I captured, played (rather poorly), and edited the footage shown here, but now they're trying to rape for ad revenue. Both EA and Sony have done this to me as well on other vids. Thank you youtube. It's like every day you make posting vids here all the more worthwhile to me........ This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the PS2. After striking-out twice with two sub-par efforts (Legacy of War and C: The Contra Adventure) to bring Konami's venerable franchise into the 3D realm, Konami finally learned their lesson, and brought Contra in to 3D in style, by going back to the seires' roots. Contra: Shattered Soldier is oldschool Contra gameplay thrown into 3D graphics for a 2.5D action game that rocks hard-corps (A little Contra humor). This has the classic Contra feel, and, as you can see, the classic Contra difficulty. It is however learnable and beatable. I'm playing on normal difficulty in this vid, but you can make it easier. I probably should have, but I'm very close to beating the level. This is another game that's going to take a lot of time and patience in order for you to master and eventually beat. It's oldschool tough, but as with other classics, it's perfectly learnable. However some people will be too frustrated to ever see the game through to the end. Contra ...
Probotector MD (Contra Hard Corps) - Boss Run - Part 1
Fang the Wolf for the win. .. wait, what's this? A Contra run WITHOUT the Spread Gun?! Fo' reals? Yep, Fang.. or rather, CX-3, completely SLAUGHTERS bosses. He's the hardest character in this game to use and also the most rewarding. His charge attack shot usually bypasses boss shielding and several mini-bosses are killed instantly with this weapon. Just gotta make sure you don't miss... As you can see near the end of the video, missing a shot with the weapon almost killed me. Probotector Megadrive, or as it's better known, Contra Hard Corps, is the second hardest Contra game I've played, (Contra 4 being the hardest, by a long shot.) This game follows Super Probotector's (Contra 3) mass crazy boss lead, and takes it a step further by making the entire game practically a boss rush. This is also the most confusing run I've done, because there are multiple paths, and I need to cover them all. This boss run is going to be split up into ALOT of parts. :P Out of all the Probotector games, this game suffered the most thanks to censorship. Any use of the word "Damn" is replaced with the laughable "OH NO!", all but two humanoid characters are replaced with robots, aliens, or bugs. The storyline was altered heavily, and no longer uses the older games as backstory. That and the characters got really crappy names. Where possible I use the US names instead. As usual, some boss names are totally made up, others are official. Does anyone know any good sources regarding Contra... you know ...

Super Contra 2 for NES (1/2)
For fun, I decided to record myself beating this game due to it's extreme levels of Contra difficulty. For those of you who don't know, this is a pirated version of the original Contra that has a very strange and unusual take on the game. Definitely very entertaining to watch especially due to the large amount of extremely stupid deaths. I call this a pseudo speedrun due to a ton of errors made, but with the goal of beating it as fast as I could.
