5 year old Kaylee doing Classical Ballet dance (Russian Ballet trained) Level 1/2
5 year old Kaylee takes 3 hours a week of Classical Russian Ballet. This is very helpful for her rythmic, artistic gymnastics and competitive dance. Her favorite part of Ballet is center work. She loves jumping, leaping and turning. This is her second year of classical ballet. Kaylee is not taking class here with her regular ballet teachers. She is just having a private with another ballet teacher at another studio so we could film her. She has never worked with Ms. Kirsten doing ballet before so some parts of this class she was doing things she has never tried before. Take a peek into Ballet Philippines' last production for the 42nd Season through the video animation of still photos by Paul Alexander Morales and Victor Ursabia Pusong Wagas, is a new contemporary ballet by resident choreographer Alden Lugnasin with original music by an independent music icon, Cynthia Alexander. Based on a libretto by Nicolas B. Pichay, this production is inspired by the legend of Mandaluyong. Set in pre-colonial Manila, the story highlights the exemplary love of Luyong, a gifted carpenter and Manda a tribal princess and their sacrifice in the face of the coming foreign invaders. Don Quixote - Ratmansky (Dutch National Ballet)
Now available on iTunes, Amazon and CinemaNow! www.tendu.tv The Dutch National Ballet's new full-length production of Don Quichot has been created for the company by Ratmansky. The ballet is an audience favourite: a dazzling display of high spirits, virtuosity and Spanish temperament. The flamboyant leaps, dizzying pirouettes and crisp pointe work that are standard features of the production give the performers every opportunity to show off their technical prowess. But at the same time, the comic story based on Cervantes' masterpiece makes strong demands on the dancers' acting abilities. In this unique production, the roles of Don Quichot and Sancho Panza are played by actors: Peter de Jong and Karel de Rooij, who are a well-known theatrical double-act (Mini and Maxi) in the Netherlands. Ratmansky has drawn inspiration for his production from the libretto of the first version of Don Quichot by Marius Petipa, created in 1869, adding his own new elements and choreography to the ballet. The design, by the renowned French designer Jérôme Kaplan, refers to the time of Cervantes.
