Synonymous with Bay Area rap, E-40 garnered a regional following, and eventually a national one, with his flamboyant raps, while his entrepreneurial spirit, embodied by his homegrown record label, Sick Wid' It Records, did much to cultivate a flourishing rap scene to the east of San Francisco Bay, in communities such as Oakland and his native Vallejo. Along with Too Short, Spice 1, and Ant Banks, E-40 was among the first Bay Area rappers to sign a major-label deal, penning a deal with Jive Records in 1994, after years of releasing music independently, going back as far as 1990, when Sick Wid' It released Let's Side, a four-track EP by the Click, a group comprised of E-40, his cousin B-Legit, his brother D-Shot, and his sister Suga T. Throughout the '90s and into the early 2000s, E-40 and his Sick Wid' It associates released a series of albums on Jive, and though they weren't big sellers nationally, they were well received regionally and proved highly influential, on not only the West Coast but also in the South, thanks in part to Master P, who began his No Limit Records empire in the Bay Area (ie, Richmond) in the early to mid-'90s before relocating it to New Orleans.

Some of you may have seen this one before, but now presented to you with massively enhanced audio. =] Poland, what a marvelous place! Filmed this one in Łódź, Krakow, Katowice & Rzesow, with audio from the album 'World War Live' recorded in Łódź. The gig in Łódź was on the Polish independence day. The audiences response to the opening track 40:1 and Mullback entering the stage waving the Polish flag was astounding . Symphony no. 2, op. 40 (1924) 1. Allegro ben articolato London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Walter Weller Decca LP rec. November 1977 Sergei Prokofiev wrote his Symphony No. 2 in D minor (Op. 40) in 1924-5. He wrote it in Paris, during what he called "nine months of frenzied toil". He characterized this symphony as a work of "iron and steel". Prokofiev based the symphony's overall structure, of a tempestuous minor-key first movement followed by a set of variations, on Beethoven's last piano sonata (Op. 111). The first movement, in traditional sonata form, is rhythmically unrelenting, harmonically dissonant, and texturally thick. The second movement, twice as long as the first, is a set of variations based on a diatonic theme played by a plaintive oboe, giving a strong contrast to the defiant coda of the 1st movement. The subsequent variations contrast moments of beautiful meditation with cheeky playfulness, while the last variation integrates the theme with the violence of the first movement, reaching an inevitable climax. The symphony ends with a touching reinstatement of the initial oboe theme, eventually dispelled by an eerie chord on the strings. The piece was premiered in Paris on June 6, 1925, conducted by its dedicatee Serge Koussevitzky, and was not well received. Polish WW2 Soldiers Tribute - Sabaton 40-1 Purple Heart Guten Nacht
This is a tribute to the brave & forgotten Polish soldiers of WWII. They did so much for their land and freedom for many this cost was their life, loved ones and family. I studied history back in school but I was not taught what really happened in WWII. I was only taught about the Big Three; Russia, UK and the USA. The people from each of those countries think that their country won the war for Europe and the World. Yet without the help of the each other and more importantly the Polish Soldiers they could not have achieved much at all. Some of you may have heard about the Warsaw uprising but thats as much as you will probably know. A lot happened throughout the duration of the war which led up to the uprising. If you would like to know more purchase or get this book form your local library called Rising 44 The Battle for Warsaw by Norman Davies. ISBN:978-0-30-48863-1. This book, unless you are a historian on WWII, will teach you and inform you with facts and stories which you otherwise will never hear or read elsewhere. www.polishlibrary.org Another major incident which again not many people know about is the Katyn massacre. This was a horrible atrocity carried out by the Soviets where by mass executions of Polish Military Officers, Policeman, Intellectuals and civilisations were carried out. This song tells the story of the Battle of Wizna between September 7th and 10th 1939 during the German Invasion of Poland at the beginning of the Second World War. The 720 Poles had 42200 Wehrmacht-soldiers of the XIX Army Corps under General der Panzertruppe Heinz Guderian against them (so the song should actually be called 59:1) but nevertheless delayed the approach of the Wehrmacht seriously. CAUTION! I won't tolerate any racist, discriminatory or in any other form inappropriate comments!
