Since its introduction in 1935, the .357 Magnum has been one of the all time great cartridges. Let's celebrate a little by slinging a few of them! By the way, my dad's single action .357 was out of timing; the firing pin was striking the edge of the case head instead of the primer. I'll have to look at it and see if a new spring will repair it or it needs a "real" gunsmith.

Grizzly 357 magnum
A non technical video highlighting the LAR MK I Grizzly in .357 Remington Magnum. It's a autoloader that shoots a revolver cartridge. I have a project I am working on with this pistol and wanted to introduce you to it. We are also experimenting with the new Casio high speed camera too. The one thing that this handgun has over the Desert Eagle is that it is only half the weight. Although it's not gas operated you can use different weight springs to adjust for different loads.

My first video shooting the .357 Sig cartridge, using a Glock 32 .357 Sig barrel in my Glock 23. No, it's not really a Glock 32, I suppose, but the Glock 23 and the Glock 32 are essentially the same gun. With the .357 Sig barrel, this Glock becomes a Glock 32.
GLOCK 32: .357 SIG HANDGUN REVIEW
This HD video of the Glock 32 includes several shooting segments (including POV) and a brief tabletop review. There is also footage showing the case support in the G32 barrel. The G32 is the compact Glock model for .357 SIG, a caliber designed to replicate .357 Magnum short barrel revolver performance in a semiautomatic handgun. Typical .357 SIG velocities are 1350 fps for 125 grain ammo and 1250 fps for 140 and 147 grain loads. The .357 SIG is often referred to as a "9mm magnum". My perceived recoil places it between a 9mm +P and moderate to hot .40 S&W load, which should be in the comfort zone for experienced shooters. I believe that .357 SIG recoil is manageable with good accuracy if proper techniques are utilized. The .357 SIG cartridge, released in 1994, was a collaborative project between Sig Sauer and Federal Cartridge. Compared to other "service calibers", the .357 SIG has a small but loyal consumer following in addition to being adopted by several law enforcement agencies in the US, both at the state and federal level. The .357 SIG is currently used by the US Secret Service and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. This Glock 32 will be used for testing of .357 SIG JHP ammo in a ballistic gel format. As of the upload date of this video, there are very few ballistic gel tests online for .357 SIG. 357 Magnum barrel blows off
The barrel of a gun range's rental Taurus stainless steel 357 magnum blew clean off after we fired about 20 rounds through it. I happened to be taking video at the time. The guy shooting had some slightly burned and battered fingers but was otherwise fine. Ammo was factory Magtech bought at the range, and the only other ammo we had with us was 22LR

Simple penetration and expansion test of the Speer Gold Dot, .357 SIG 125 gr JHPusing a diluted form of SIM-TEST Ballistic Testing Media. This format is comparable to ballistic gel, and includes four layers of denim. Video includes brief overview of the cartridge, recoil shots, and one shot test. Post-shot evaluation shows bullet path through the block, average diameter, and retained weight. Test gun was a Glock 32, 4" barrel. Advertised muzzle velocity is 1350 fps, my 5-shot average was 1336 fps. VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING AMMO TESTS ON THIS CHANNEL: Early on, I used wetpack for ammo testing, with or without denim. Beginning in 2011 I use SIM-TEST calibrated to ballistic gel specs plus 4 layers of denim. The denim is an IWBA standard simulating the density of heavy clothing. Please understand that these techniques are merely representations to indicate possible ballistics; they are not intended to replicate real-world street results. There are just too many factors involved in a self-defense scenario to offer a 100% degree of accuracy when compared to street results. It is essential to perform exhaustive research on your carry choice, which could yield actual use data. Some fun with a classic S&W .357 revolver. I also bring out the Model 19 and 65 for reference. The Model 65 (stainless) is the same gun with round butt and stainless steel. The Model 19 is the same except that it has adjustable sights and a shrouded ejector rod. The Model 19 never came with the heavy barrel, as far as I know either.

My American Bully puppy, Ares, is here to "help" me as I show you how I take care of my firearms. Most of you who watch my vids have plenty more experience cleaning firearms than I do, and considering that, my goal isn't to teach anyone anything, but to share the experience. Just a little disclaimer -- I'm not necessarily trying to push or promote any of the products I use, just showing you what I have been using that gets my guns clean. In this video, I'm using Hoppe's No. 9 solvent, Rem Oil, and Flitz Rifle, Gun & Knife Wax. That being said, I'm just going to relax and enjoy the sense of accomplishment from scrubbing off all the carbon and lead buildup and polishing up this revolver and revealing the steel beauty underneath. Ruger SP-101: "The Forever .357" by Nutnfancy
The Ruger SP-101 defies the odds. At a stout 26 ounce, this little stainless steel subcompact revolver remains a huge seller for Ruger and very popular with all types of dudes. Compared against much lighter weight alternatives like the Ruger LCR, SW Centennial, Bodyguard, or Scandium framed J-frames, the SP-101 is a portly CCW carry companion. And yet it prevails and sells. Many responsible civilians, LEOs, homeowners, and outdoorsman opt for the little SP-101 as their first choice. To hold and shoot the SP-101 is to begin to undersand why. First, its heft provides what I feel is a certain shootability is such a small form factor. If you haven't done it recently, find opportunity to do a reality check in shooting a .357 load in a subcompact revolver. The word "unpleasant" comes to mind for most with the Scandium framed S&Ws being tortuous in nature. But the 26 ounce SP-101, while still no full size or heavy gun, does manage to tame these loads to controllable and for some (like masochists like myself) even enjoyable levels (which to me opens up recreational shooting opportunities in this small gun). For many, like myself, the SP-101 is enjoyable to shoot but all will understand in practice that it is difficult to shoot well at distance. But with .357 full power loads, it is a hand cannon which barks and spits fire with authority. Maybe now we can understand its appeal. And more importantly, this little cannon is built tough and rugged, able to withstand such battering ...
