Fashion in the 1980's
The 80s were a time when nearly all of the fashion trends that people love to hate were created. Hair was teased and permed to get that classy Afro style, make up was more like face paint and unplucked eyebrows were trendy. The time that fashion forgot is a phrase suited to the 80s, as nearly all common laws of fashion were broken & torn into minuscule pieces. Danse Macabre Camille Saint-Saëns 1980s cartoon, PBS, Halloween, Music
This originally aired on PBS in the 1980s featuring a poorly made up vampire host to introduce and discuss. It was also shown to me when I was in elementary school. One of the best short length Halloween animations ever created. Terrific illustrations. About the song: Danse macabre, by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, was an art song for voice and piano (first performed in 1872) with a French text by the poet Henri Cazalis which is based in an old French superstition. Two years later, the composer expanded and reworked the piece into a tone poem for orchestra, replacing the vocal line with a solo violin. The rest, they say, is history. 1980s Zenith Supersport laptop computer
This old laptop works like brand new. The battery even held a good charge the last time I used it a few years ago. It's an 80C88 running at 7.16 MHz (50% faster than the original IBM PC), with 640K RAM, an electroluminescent backlit monochrome 10.5" LCD with 640x200 CGA resolution, two 3.5" 720K floppy drives, and a very nice desktop-quality keyboard. A 20 MB hard drive and built-in modem were optional; mine has neither. I also demonstrate it using my Tandy CM-11 as an external color monitor. Live Dec/1980,Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band from Leyton in east London, formed in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. Since their inception, the band's discography has grown to include a collective total of thirty-six albums: fifteen studio albums; eleven live albums; four EPs; and six compilations. Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden achieved success during the early 1980s(w/Paul Di'Anno). After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of platinum and gold albums.
